Senior Business Development Manager (Student and Migrant segment)
China-based role managing the growth of the migrant and international student segments
Focus on increasing the market share of Asian migrant and international students segments

This role is responsible for leading and managing the growth of the migrant and international student segments destined for New Zealand, from a regional perspective through account openings in country, referring affluent clients to ANZ China, product support for the growth of deposits in New Zealand and China and ANZ partnerships in Asia. Specific focus includes but is not limited to, the identification and implementation of opportunities and strategies, with the objectives of increasing the market share of Asian migrant and international students segments, and growth of existing asset and liability portfolios within New Zealand and China retail distributions. The candidate we seek for this challenging role will be customer focused with the ability to lead from the front and deliver as per the demands of a growing business.
Reporting in to the Head of Asian Banking and Head of Retail, ANZ China, you will be accountable for developing and implementing business plans, managing high level stakeholder relationships, providing strategic input for new business acquisitions and developing a call plan with the objectives of increasing referral business. Your role also requires you to develop strategic relationships with ANZ business units and key businesses and community groups in China. You will also be required to develop relevant marketing and communications plans for agreed initiatives and provide progress status reports on prospects and campaigns. The ideal candidate will also contribute to major decisions involving strategic direction, platform/architecture and processes, resource allocation and fiscal targets.
Qualifications
Ideally you will bring to the business, proven experience in the China Retail segment and the ability to develop and implement strategic vision, processes and procedures to comply with objectives as required. A prior experience of New Zealand as student or migrant with an understanding of the end-to-end value chain for migrant and international student segments stands you in good stead. This is complemented by a strong background in marketing and relationship management and an understanding of the key drivers of risk/reward relationships.
Excellent relationship management and networking skills within the Chinese communities adds value as will the ability to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin (preference will be given to those who also speak Cantonese). Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, e.g. business, commerce, accounting, marketing or appropriate business related experience prove advantageous.
